Union de Ejidos San Fernando
It`s located in the downtown of Chiapas state, scarcely to 20 km of the capital, on the highway that takes you the hydroelectric prey of Chicoasen, "La Union Ejidos San Fernando" constituted on December 15th, 1984 with the purpose of searching the association of the small producers of coffee, those who together would look for channels of commercialization of their product avoiding intermediaries.
Beginning
In first place, the production was of conventional coffee (not organic) but lo prove that the organization was maturing, it was considered which would be the more appropriate mechanism to satisfy the primordial objectives of the organization, that were also besides the commercialization of coffee, to elevate the social and economic conditions of their communities, to take care and to promote the respect to the environment and to preserve the non-renewable natural resources. It this sense the organization began the process of transition of the traditional cultivations to the organic ones.
MISSION
We are a rural organization of coffee producers that contributes to the development of the environment of the associate communities, through the coffee commercialization and organic agricultural products.
VISION
La Union de Ejidos San Fernando is an worthy example of a peasant organization consolidated its success depends the future of work and honest, dedicated and consent of the peasants who make up, those who produce organic agricultural producers and coffee of excellent quality, and maintain a high standard in their production, collection and marketing of themselves and their purpose is to improve the living standards of its members.
